École Good Shepherd School is a Kindergarten to Grade Six School that serves the town of Okotoks and the surrounding rural area south of Calgary. The school presently has approximately 700 students and a teaching staff of approximately 42 teachers and 8 support staff. The mission of École Good Shepherd School is to provide a high standard of academic education within a nurturing and caring Catholic environment. Our staff focus on the development of the whole child in relation to the values and teachings of the Gospels and strive to bring our students closer to God through formalized Religious Education classes, daily prayer, and participation in regular masses and liturgies throughout the year. École Good Shepherd School includes a French Immersion program for students in kindergarten through grade six. As a dual track school, we are proud of the diverse opportunities we offer to ensure that students reach their full potential. Students, staff and parents are encouraged to express their faith in many ways and to allow Christ, the Good Shepherd, to live within them. The school operates on a team philosophy where all teachers are connected to a team of teachers that meet weekly to focus on the improvement of student learning. The school provides academic opportunities in all domains including art, computers, drama, music, and learning support. Our grade six students also have the opportunity to compete in school sports at divisional tournaments and band competitions. Our Principal, Melissa Baxter, and Vice Principals, Paul Lavery and Angela Tsimaras, encourage you to visit us at 52 Robinson Drive or call 403-938-4318 to find out more about our dynamic school.
