School Council
What is Parent Council?
School councils are groups of parents, principals, teachers, and community members who work together to support and enhance student learning. We provide a method for the school community to consult with and offer advice to the principal and the school board.
Parents play a vital role in student success and can participate in decisions that impact student learning through school council. By contributing at meetings, parents can actively contribute to the school community.
We also plan activities throughout the year including the Back to School BBQ, Halloween Dance, Christmas Bazaar and Movie night. Fundraisers support school activities like swimming lessons, bussing to and from St. James parish and purchasing new equipment like iPads and bike racks.
Parent Council meets the Third Tuesday of most months at 7pm in the School Library. Everyone is welcome!
Each meeting:
- Offers free babysitting
- Gives away Door Prizes
- Provides Refreshments
- Allows an opportunity to meet other parents, learn what’s going on at the school this month, and engage in conversation with our school administration and school board.
