A huge thank you to the Town of Okotoks for hosting our grade six classes at the Town Hall last week. The students were able to participate in a mock council meeting to learn more about how municipal politics works here in Okotoks.
Today we were fortunate enough to have a Blackfoot Elder, Randy Bottle (Saa’kokoto) to share some of his First Nations wisdom with our students. Randy is a masterful storyteller and shared many of the valued traditions and rich history of the Indigenous Peoples with our grade 1-6 students.

It’s Administrative Professionals Day today and we might be a bit biased but we definitely have two of the best. Feel free to reach out and let Jodi and Desiree know how much they are appreciated!
This Friday at 11:30 a.m., as a part of our monthly Good Shepherd Lives in Me assembly, our Violin Club will be having their inaugural performance. They started from scratch back in September and have been practicing all year long. We are excited to hear how much they have improved. Feel free to join us in celebrating their accomplishments!
Just a reminder that tomorrow will be Popcorn Day here at the school! Your child can bring a loonie and they will receive a bag of popcorn. The profits will go to help subsidize costs for the grade six grad camp happening in June! Thanks in advance for your support.
A number of our division two students attended the Young Authors Conference on Saturday which was held at Holt Trinity Academy. They had some great guest speakers talking to them about the writing process and they even had the opportunity to put what they learned into action. A big thank you to Madame Ottenbreit and Miss Seegers for all the work they put into this great day.
We are down to just under two weeks until our grade five/six production of High School Musical Jr. The actors and teachers are giving up their own Saturday today to have a few big run throughs. We know the final product will be amazing! We have two evening shows - Thursday, May 4th and Friday, May 5th. Tickets for Thursday, May 4th will be on sale soon! Stay tuned for details!#egssdrama
Our grade 4 classes celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus with Easter "Sundaes" today. Thank you to our parents who came in to help hand out. They did an amazing job explaining the significance of each ingredient. Each ingredient in the sundaes represents an aspect of the Easter story. There is white ice cream for purity and Oreo crumbs for our sins. There was also a toothpick, a cherry, strawberry sauce and whipped cream. Can you guess what those ingredients represent?
Yesterday we had our annual staff awards luncheon. It’s always great when we can celebrate all the amazing work our staff has been doing over the course of the year. It really makes us feel fortunate to work here at Ecole Good Shepherd School. Special congratulations goes out to the following staff members this year… Matthew Bassett - Christian Witness Award Jenna Beaton - Excellence in Teaching Award Angela Tsimaras - Above and Beyond Award Kelly Galloway - The Power of One Award
