Congratulations to our recipient of the Above and Beyond Award, Mr. Paul Lavery!
This year has been very unique and full of new challenges. Throughout it, Paul has consistently been a pillar of support for the staff and students. Paul is always in classrooms supporting teachers whether it be team teaching with them for a week, general checkins to see how they are doing, motivating students, book pushing, helping with tech, or just popping in to make us laugh. In fact, he is also known as the 'walking library' for books, teacher resources, teaching strategies, and the keeper of all random but important facts. He is known for his thoughtfulness as well as for bringing in his humor and expertise.
He is incredibly forward thinking and looks for deep ways to support teachers and admin through ordering resources, organizing events, setting up subs, teaching strategies, etc. He knows when we need a good laugh and we always look forward to his memes. He even puts bath and body work soaps in the staff bathrooms just to brighten our days. He goes out of his way to build relationships through sending handwritten notes, recognizing staff and students on announcements, pushing books, handing out sanitizers, checking in on our families, and buying the best gifts, just to name a few.
Not to mention, Paul is a master teacher and is a leader who is never afraid to take risks, be vulnerable, and learn alongside us! He is so appreciated. Congrats Mr. Lavery!
