To help ease the transition into the first day of school we are once again pleased to be hosting an open house the day before school begins. This open house will take place on Tuesday, August 30th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and is a great opportunity to meet (and have your child meet) their new teacher, find the location of their new homeroom, and drop off your child's school supplies. We look forward to seeing you all there!
Summer is coming to an end and the office at École Good Shepherd School is now officially open. If you still need to register your child for school please contact the school and we would be happy to help you out!
What a last day!!! Mr. Lendvay and the teachers threw a dance party for the classes in the gym to celebrate. So much joy and fun! Here is a look into the grade K-2 dance party!
The grade sixes had an amazing first day out at SABC. Between gaga ball, lazertag, the climbing wall and the giant swing (along with a ton of other activities) the enthusiasm was super high. Day 2 here we come!
Mrs. Harding seems to be quite a trusting soul… (she claims “this is the water fountain at the Telus Spark Science Centre”.). I think I might have just stayed thirsty!
When our grade threes got back from the Telus Spark Science Centre today we asked them if they had a good day or a great day? They responded that they had an amazing day! We love it when that is their reaction to going on a field trip!
On Monday our grade one classes had a field great trip to Granary Road. They all came back talking about how much fun they had. Here are some pictures of their trip.
Here are a few more videos from this afternoons division one talent show.
Not to be outdone by all our little superstars , our grade one teachers showed the kids they still have a few moves of their own!
The weather co-operated a lot more this week as our grade fours were able to head to Heritage Park for their year-end field trip. It looks like everyone had a lot of fun!
Here are a few more pictures from the grade fours field trip to Heritage Park today.
In kindergarten today, Q and U got married and we celebrated all words Q et U (because of course, they are always together) Mlle Coles helped officiate the wedding and all of her grade 5s helped the kindergarteners with the ceremony.
We definitely have some future comedians, dancers, gymnasts and musicians in our grades 1 to 3 classes. This afternoon was our division one talent show and they did not fail to impress!
As a part of National Indigenous Peoples Day, Mrs. Harding's grade three class made talking sticks outside and discussed the significance in the indigenous culture in Canada.

EGSS has got talent!!! Division two held their talent show on Monday and the talent was amazing!
Our year-end mass is also where we honour our overall Christian Witness (the Wade Kientz Award) and Sportsmanship (the Michael Paul Award) winners from each class as well as an overall winner from division one and division two. A huge congratulations to all our winners and there could have been so many other people acknowledged - we have amazing students here at Ecole Good Shepherd School.
Yesterday at our year-end mass we were able to acknowledge all those who received their first first Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation this year with a small token from the school. It’s great to see students taking steps to deepen their faith through their participation in the sacraments.
We know that with tomorrow being National Indigenous Peoples Day there is a bit of confusion about whether or not the kids have school. École Good Shepherd School does have a full day of school tomorrow. In the morning we will be having our year-end mass over at St. James Parish starting at 10:00 a.m. followed by our awards ceremony. If you have not already done so, please be sure to head on to School Cash and sign the permission form so your child can attend.
A huge congratulations to all our students who celebrated the First Eucharist this weekend at one of the masses. As Father stressed in his homily, you are all gifts to us!
