We are officially on day 2 our our Fall Book Fair. Students have been in to see all the books available for purchasing. Unfortunately, we still are unable to have adults in the building due to COVID but we are excited to say there is a virtual book fair where books can be purchased happening as well. The virtual Bookfair can be accessed at the following website... https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5158169
Just reminding everyone that with Parent-Teacher Interviews happening this Thursday we will be dismissing kids at 11:40. Buses will be here at that time to take students home at that time as well.
Starting this Friday at 8:00 a.m. we are inviting all parents to sign up for Parent-Teacher Interviews. The interviews will be held on Thursday, November 25th. Students will be dismissed at 11:40 a.m. and interviews will begin at 12:30 and continue through the afternoon and evening via Zoom. Teachers are hoping to meet with all of their students parents/guardians so they can update them on their academic progress.
This Friday is our first report card. You will be able to download them via your PowerSchool Parent Portal. All parents should have received an email regarding how they can view their childs' report card. If you run into any problems please contact either Jodi or Desiree here in the office.
Our grade fives did a fabulous job today with our Remembrance Day Observance. Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow and we’ll see everyone on Friday.
New Podcast Out Now! Keeley and Claire definitely know how to negotiate to get what they want for their school in this latest episode. They came up with a list of things to ask their principal for that they think will make their school the best school ever. I think you might be shocked at how they just might convince their own principal, Mr. Lorenz to actually do one of these things on the list! You might even want to steal some of these ideas to bring to your own principal! Happy negotiating! https://blubrry.com/evenifyoumiss/82507878/even-if-you-miss-season-3-episode-4-things-to-negotiate-with-your-principal-so-you-can-have-the-best-school-ever/
Students today are getting an amazing opportunity today to grow in their faith by spending time with Jesus. Twice a year we spend time in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament here at school. It is truly an uplifting experience that bring us all closer to God. #egssfaith #ctrfaith

As a school division, we are collecting gently used winter jackets, snow pants and boots to support Jacket Racket during the month of October. We are off to a great start here at Good Shepherd! If you have anything your children may have outgrown or something you as an adult no longer need please send it in so a family in need can make great use of it. Thanks so much in advance! #egsscares
What an amazing morning of Cross-Country for our students. Due to COVID we were unable to have a full after-school race but we wanted to make sure the students still had an opportunity to have an official race. It was great weather and we had over 300 students running which was amazing to see.
Our Even If You Miss podcast is back up and running for our third season!!! In our premiere 3rd season episode, Cade, Addie, Justine, and Addison walk us through how kids can inspire the world. They teach us some really unique ways to build up our hope in hard times. Our school will be having activities all next week to honour September 30th as National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As September 30th is now a day in which students will be out of school, we would like students to wear orange on September 29th.
Tomorrow morning, our school will be having our annual Terry Fox Run and Walk. We are encouraging students to bring a twonie (or other donation) for the Canadian Cancer Society. Just as a reminder, please complete the online permission form via School Cash so students can leave the school grounds to go on the class run/walk.
An absolutely beautiful afternoon for our first Grade 5-6 rugby practice. We know that as more permission forms are filled out online we will have even more people next week.
It’s federal Election Day and our grade six classes are participating in Student Vote. It will be interesting to see how closely their results mirror what is happening nationally.
Yesterday was our last hot lunch of the year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who have been so giving of their time this year to help make this year as normal as possible. It was great that we could continue having a hot lunch program - we just had to make a few adjustment to make everything COVID safe. Our volunteers this year definitely went above and beyond.
The grade 6s had their grad ceremony today as well! We sure are going to miss these kids! We wish them all the best.
