As a part of Carnaval we are having a door decorating contest throughout the school. It definitely helps build the spirit of Carnaval throughout the building. Feel free to like an individual image to get your vote in.
Today we are even being entertained with some live French music for Carnaval.
Carnaval Week is always a highlight of our school calendar! Students today have been treated to hot chocolate and are learning new French dances and playing the spoons in music class.
We are having a great start to our Carnaval Week here at Good Shepherd. As a wrap up on Friday we will be having a Food Truck on site starting at 1:00 p.m. Come on by and have some great varieties of poutine from The Bear Balls Food Truck. Check out their menu online as they have a lot to offer.

Just another reminder that tomorrow is #PinkShirtDay2021. We hope all EGSS kiddos will join in. 💖
Traditionally, our grade fives would be heading to the Saddledome to watch the Calgary Hitman #endbullying hockey game, but this year we are going virtual! The students will listen to messages from local celebrities and their experience with bullying. Students will gain the confidence to stand up and make a difference to end bullying. Let’s have all our students wear pink this Wednesday in support of anti-bullying. #egsssafeandcaring
All Good Shepherd teachers will be spending today and tomorrow attending their annual teacher's convention. This year, in light of COVID-19, all sessions are taking place online. There are a lot of sessions available and teachers are looking forward to continuing down the path of lifelong learning.
Yesterday we celebrated our second day of our staff faith days. We started the day with an Ash Wednesday liturgy in the gymnasium and then broke off into activities that included creating prayer blankets (the were later donated to the Project Warmth Society of Alberta), prayer reflections and making rosaries. The day ended with an art walk where staff learned more about all of the Al Gerritsen art work throughout the building. #egssfaith
A huge congratulations goes out to Brian Kommes, this year's recipient of École Good Shepherd School's Christian Witness Award. Brian is a true model of Catholic values throughout the building as he interacts with students and staff and challenges us to dive deeper into our faith. #egssfaith
We are off to a great start for our 2021 Staff Faith Days. Talking to us today about the power of being a Catholic educator is Chris Smeaton, former superintendent of Holy Spirit Catholic School Division, located in the Lethbridge area. #egssfaithdays
It is another cold one today! There will be no buses running today to and from Good Shepherd. If your child is walking to school or being dropped off please have them come directly in the front door. Stay warm and stay safe!
