Our students had a fabulous time on Friday evening here in the gym as our Parent Council brought back their annual Movie Night. Everyone was able to relax and enjoy the movie Lyle, Lyle Crocodile and snack on popcorn and drinks.
I like to take a tour at least once a week to visit classrooms, hang out with the students and teachers, and see all of the amazing things happening at our school. I always bring my ipad to capture the moments! Here is what I saw this week! - I walked into grade 4s teaching kg students some math activities and reading with them. - grade 1s working in centers showing proof and evidence of how they were becoming readers - another grade 1 class working on french immersion vocabulary through play - grade 5s creating electronic music - grade 6s working on alien projects to present I can't wait for my next tour!

Calling all Kindergarten families interested in attending ÉGSS next year! We are hosting a ÉGSS Kindergarten open house EXTRAVAGANZA. Please pass this invitation out to any families you may know. It will be a great night full of info and fun!
Coming to us all the way from Kitchener, Ontario Jay Bailey spent the day teaching our division two students about the Voyageurs. This is very closely related to our Social Studies curriculums and also highlights our French Canadian history. His talk was very informative and the students were able to participate in some of the activities the Voyageurs took part in hundreds of years ago.
This Friday should be a great evening as our Parent Council hosts their annual movie Night in the gym.
Happy New Year! That means it is time for our ÉGSS Kg Information Night! We would love it if you shared the info night dates with family and friends who may be interested in attending. We hope to see you there!

Wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas 🎄
Our Grade 5 Good Works project is always so special this time of year ❤️
Transportation Update: Dec. 22 6:30 am: Our school is open, however, in-town and rural buses will not run as it has been deemed too cold for students to wait at bus stops, particularly if the bus was to run late. Students and staff driving to school should exercise caution giving them extra time. We apologize for this continued disruption. For up-to-date transportation information, please visit https://www.redeemer.ab.ca/transportation-status
Today is Mrs. Wetmore’s last day with us before she retires. She has been our daytime caretaker for the last 8 years and will be greatly missed. Yesterday we had a staff lunch to celebrate her time with us. We wish her all the best in her retirement.
One of our buddy class activities today. Mrs. Riley’s class got together with Mrs. Morrison’s class and made pine cone angels. They turned out great!
Transportation Update: Wednesday, Dec. 21 6:08 am: Our school is open, but due to extremely cold temperatures and severe wind chills, buses will not run again today. This includes both in-town and rural routes. Students and staff driving to school should use extra caution and plan for additional travel time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our families.
7 up and 7 down! Our grade sixes wrapped up our Christmas concert season with some great band songs, a few individual solos, a duet and even some rock and roll. It’s amazing how far they’ve come in just a few months. They should be very proud of themselves.
Christmas is alive and well in the hallways here at Ecole Good Shepherd School. Our Parent Council has sponsored a door decorating contest and the classes really stepped it up. Here are a bunch of the doors throughout the school. Stay tuned to see who the winning classes are.
